Director Juei-Cheng Jao recently appeared on EBC’s Global Face-to-Face program, where he discussed smart ports, AI applications, and port digital transformation.

In fact, in recent years, Director Jao has continued to reflect on a key question: As global port competition has gradually shifted beyond traditional cargo-handling efficiency toward digital resilience, supply chain security, and AI governance, how should Taiwan’s ports develop their own model of smart governance?

Director Jao recently published an article titled “The Kaohsiung Initiative: Building a Smart Port for Maritime National Security,” exploring the future direction of Taiwan’s ports from the perspectives of smart ports, maritime security, digital governance, and national resilience.
